Summary:
The Kyoto University ASEAN Center organized a series of visits within Bangkok to facilitate the important task of coordination between L-INSIGHT and the collaborative institutions. At the same time, the visits enabled us to gather information on good practices in researcher development. The L-INSIGHT delegation held lively discussions with the three universities and one government agency regarding the challenges and outlook for the development of early career researchers.
In addition, the delegation was invited to participate in the “KU Academic Forum: In Celebration of the 77th Anniversary of Kasetsart University” and had the honor of attending the following:

• Lecture: Higher Education and Global Sustainability Challenges
• Lecture: Educating Global Citizens for Sustainable Development
• Panel session: Changing roles of Universities in Providing Education on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

A discussion at the symposium involving the thought-provoking concept of “changing mindsets” was especially instructive for L-INSIGHT, a unique program that encourages early career researchers to enhance not only their skill sets but also their mindsets.
