Summary:
An essential meeting was carried out at the OIST, one of L-INSIGHT’s partners, to prepare for a number of jointly organized sub-programs. The observation of a workshop in situ shed light on viewpoints and improvements to be considered for our program’s development in fostering next-generation leading scientists. The workshop was testament to the importance of letting non-native English speakers experience communication in English in various settings, such as participating in activities as a team, as well as learning behavioral patterns in pairs or groups. We were also convinced that it is imperative to select workshops (and ultimately develop programs) that address the needs of scientists in refining their communication skills and behavioral patterns.
