TASHIRO Ai

Ai Tashiro obtained a PhD in Environmental Studies from the Graduate School of Environmental Studies at Tohoku University in 2021. She then worked as an Assistant Professor at the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, Tokushima University. She was later appointed Assistant Professor at the Komaba Organization for Educational Excellence, the University of Tokyo (2022–2023), and worked as a Project Lecturer at the Institute for Future Initiatives, the University of Tokyo (2023–2024). She joined her current position in June 2024.
Her research primarily focuses on the impact of Nature-based Solutions on residents’ health and well-being in regions vulnerable to climate change and natural disasters. Using salutogenesis to understand people-environment interactions, she addresses community development by leveraging the natural environment (e.g., blue-green spaces) and local natural resources in these regions.
