L-INSIGHT delegation visited the University of Melbourne (Melbourne) and the University of New South Wales (Sydney), February 25–27, 2025
L-INSIGHT organized a visit to Australian universities to promote the development of young researchers through systematic international collaboration and to advance the Japan-Australia-India trilateral partnership. The delegation was led by Vice President Fuyuki Ishikawa (in charge of research support). It included faculty members from the India Desk and Australia Desk of the Kyoto University Office of Research Acceleration, the Division of Graduate Studies. The delegation held meetings at the University of New South Wales and the University of Melbourne.
At the University of New South Wales, the delegation engaged in detailed discussions for tangible collaboration with Professor Grant (Vice-Chancellor for Global Affairs), Professor Zamberlan (Vice-Chancellor for International Affairs), Professor Morris (Vice-Chancellor for Research and Talent Development), Professor Dixit (Director of International Research and Innovation), and other key figures leading academic cooperation and educational exchange within the university.

Since the launch of the L-INSIGHT program, we have maintained a close collaborative relationship with the University of Melbourne. The discussions began between Professor Little (Vice-Chancellor for International Affairs) and International Strategy Office Advisors Dr. Gregory and Ms. Roitman. This was followed by discussions with Professor Kat McFerran (Academic Director of the Talent Development Unit) on the international mentor system, and with Professor Ashokkumar (Director of the Delhi-Melbourne Global Centre) and Associate Professor Rangan on Japan-Australia-India collaboration. Additionally, we presented reports on the outcomes of the academic exchange between us for the 2024 academic year.

L-INSIGHT will continue to collaborate with faculty members from Australian universities to contribute to the development of research environments for young researchers. (Article: Asa Nakano)
