Azusa Uji is an Associate Professor at the Graduate School of Law, Kyoto University. She earned her bachelor’s degree in 2012 and obtained her Ph.D. from Kyoto University in 2018. Before assuming her current position, she conducted research at Harvard University and ETH Zurich. In 2019, she received the Masaharu Matsushita Memorial Academic Award for her doctoral dissertation.

Her research focuses on negotiation processes and the institutional design of multilateral environmental agreements, including the development of a new plastic treaty. She also examines national and local public support for various environmental policies. Her recent articles have been published in the Journal of Peace Research, Sustainable Development, and Energy Policy, among others.
